The Northrop Grumman Accounting Services team is looking to hire Principal Accountant (level 03).  The position reports directly to the Manager of Enterprise General Accounting in the Falls Church, VA office. The chosen candidate must have the ability to work on site at one of our office locations in Redondo Beach, CA or Irving, TX or Falls Church, VA.
 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Support month end close activities including reviewing trial balances, preparing journal entries, loading SAP general ledger data to FDMEE/Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), reviewing FDMEE files to identify SAP table or other loading errors, ensuring errors are corrected and data are reconciled between SAP and HFM, preparing HFM journal entries as needed and clearing HFM check errors,

  • Prepare validation file and work on the FDMEE integration.
  • Prepare account reconciliations as assigned in Blackline and resolve reconciling issues,
  • Prepare SAP & HFM Intercompany Journal Entries
  • Provide audit support to sector business partners,
  • Respond to sector business partner ad hoc data requests, inquiries, and problem resolution,
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the companies as assigned, ensuring positive customer interfaces and good written and verbal communications ,
  • Participate in special projects as needed,
  • Strong attention to detail,
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines.

Basic Qualifications - to be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Principal Accountant Candidate (level 03): Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline with a minimum 6 years accounting or finance work experience OR Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of accounting or finance work experience
  • Understanding of accounting principles, practices and standards
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word), written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Have the ability to work on site at one of our office locations in Redondo Beach, CA or Irving, TX or Falls Church, VA.

Preferred Qualifications - candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Working knowledge of SAP,
  • Experience completing tasks Blackline,
  • Demonstrate skills of being detail-oriented,
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple assignments and tight deadlines,
  • Experience with ERP implementation and project management,
  • Demonstrate ability to assess processes and support improvement, efficiency, and harmonization strategies, and
  • Previous lead experience.

This position reports to Irving, TX, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 2 locations listed above.


Salary Range: $75,000 USD - $117,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
