Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector (NGDS) is seeking a Principal Financial Analyst to join the sector Accounting Operations team. This position is located in McLean, Virginia and reports directly to the Accounting Operations Manager.

Responsibilities include:
Acts as a key member in the Accounting Operations Group as they work with various sectors, divisions, and corporate staff to ensure the Sector is in compliance with U.S. GAAP accounting standards.
Assists the Accounting Operations Manager with lease accounting, such as tracking, journal entries, and reconciliation of lease balances
Serves as a point of contact for the Sector’s lease reporting tool while ensuring accuracy in the monthly lease reporting process
Helps with month-end close processing including the creation and validation of certain accruals
Completes and submits various year-end/quarter-end schedules, such as reserves, year-end supplemental data, etc.
Other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications for Principal Financial Analyst:
Must have a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 9 years of accounting experience
Will also consider:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
Well-organized, schedule driven and ability to multi-task to meet tight deadlines
Strong analytical skills to support variance reporting
Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Demonstrated ability to work independently, requiring minimal guidance and support
Must be able to work on-site in McLean, Virginia; but will consider hybrid work
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience and success interfacing with multiple disciplines and varying levels of management
Knowledge of SAP, Hyperion Financial Management and LeaseAccelerator
Strong communication skills
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
CPA
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
