Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Budget Analyst – Level 4 to join our team of talented, diverse individuals. This position will support the ISM Rate Segment in the Space sector and will be located in our McLean VA facility.
Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assisting in the preparation of Forward Pricing rate proposal packages to ensure timely and accurate submittals to the Defense Contract Management Association (DCMA) and Defense Contract Audit Association (DCAA).
- Assisting in preparing annual budgets and schedules in support of the Forward Pricing rate proposal packages and assessing risks and opportunities.
- Assisting in preparation of monthly rate monitoring deliverable to DCMA/DCAA .
- Assisting in preparation of executive reviews of rate segment performance.
- Supporting month end activities such as reconciliation of actuals, analysis of budget/actuals, variance analysis, and other misc. associated accounting entries.
- Supporting ERP system and tools updates/testing to ensure cost structure is in line with the Disclosure Statement and rate calculations.
- Developing and maintaining financial models to assist with rate and budget management.
- Supporting divisions with analysis and reporting for rate management.
- Supporting regular ad hoc requests for detailed and what-if analysis.
- Assisting in year-end close activities and other duties/special projects as assigned.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance/Accounting/Mathematics or related area with 8+ years of combined experience in Pricing/Finance/Contracts/Business - OR - a Master's degree with 6+ years of combined experience in Pricing/Finance/Contracts/Business.
- Experience in conducting financial analysis in an operations environment and/or business management.
- Experience with MS Office products (specifically Excel).
- Experience with FAR Cost Principles and/or CAS.
- Experience with financial forecasting and reporting.
- US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working in a fast-paced, cross functional environment with keen attention to detail.
- Working understanding of program elements-of-cost, labor, material, subcontracts, etc.
- Working understanding of indirect pools and allocations.
- Experience delivering analysis and presentations to management/executive leadership.
- Experience using SAP, CostPoint and Cognos TM1.
