The Aeronautics Systems - Sector Cost Management Financial team is looking for an energetic financial analyst to join the team. The Sector Financial team directly supports the AS Cost Management Divisions and Programs driving common tools, processes, and directly supporting projects related to S/4 HANA and Digital Transformation (DTO).  Responsibilities are typically diverse and vary according to the Leadership and Stakeholder needs which means the right candidate must possess the ability to execute within a fast-paced environment with patience, composure and sound decision making. As well as communicate professionally and effectively with program teams, stakeholders, and various customers.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops, maintains, and updates common tools and processes directly supporting the Cost Management Financial and NCTA Teams
  • Effectively liaise with stakeholders across multiple functions, particularly communicating financial information to a broad audience with differing needs
  • Supports special projects like S/4 HANA and Digital Transformation as they relate to Cost Management
  • Leads, coordinates, facilitates special projects related to financial functions
  • Develops and provides interactive and hands-on and training to the Cost Management Finance & NCTA teams
  • Acts as an advisor to the Cost Management Finance teams; provides guidance, problem solves, and conducts in-depth research on complex financial related topics
  • Briefs financial related topics, recommendations, and solutions at multiple levels (CFOs, VPs, Controllers, Peers)
  • Coordinates and supports audits between Sector and the Divisions (SOX, Internal Corporate Audits, etc.)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5 years' experience in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics OR a Master's degree with 3 years' of stated experience
  • Experience with financial forecasting and modeling related to the key financial planning metrics: awards/backlog, income statement, balance sheet, statement of cash flows
  • Understands the financial estimates at complete / profitability package process
  • Understanding of labor accounts (Operations/Manufacturing and Engineering), subcontract management, and general procurement
  • Experience managing Non-Contractual Technical Assistance (NCTA) projects.
  • Ability to perform under minimal direct guidance and achieve job objectives with significant degree of independence.
  • Excellent written and communication, interpersonal, and diplomatic skills.
  • Advanced excel skills to develop complex tools and reports for analysis and deep dives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience in financial forecasting and modeling related to the key financial planning metrics: awards/backlog, income statement, balance sheet, statement of cash flows
  • 3+ years’ experience developing Long Range Strategic Planning (5 Year planning) related to the key financial planning metrics
  • Experience in developing and reviewing financial estimates at complete / quarterly profitability packages
  • Experience in Earned Value Management and working with external customer reports (IMPR/IPMDAR, Contracts funds status reports, and other cost/financial customer deliverables)
  • Experience with budget, rates, and overhead management
  • Basic understanding of taxes
  • Detailed orientated with ability to spot financial trends and anomalies
  • Experience in SAP and/or Oracle Hyperion Planning/Essbase for Financial forecasting (IFAS), Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), COBRA

Salary Range: $78,500 USD - $117,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
