Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.

We are seeking a Financial Analyst – Program Cost and Control (Level 3 or 4) to join our team in Promontory (Brigham City), Utah and support our Space Launch Systems (SLS) program and Project Planning and Control.  This role will be 50% onsite and 50% remote work.

This role is responsible to provide integrated master schedule management and Earned Value Management support to the SLS program.  

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Understanding of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) scheduling discipline and experience with developing schedules that integrate with EVMS financial systems
  • Ability to create and implement coding structures and use custom fields to generate schedule exception reports relative to the SOW, WBS, IMP/IMS, EVMS, time, manager, float values, etc.
  • Experience with schedule health metrics, including the DCMA 14-point assessment criteria
  • Experience exporting schedule data to Excel and working with responsible control account managers to gather and report schedule status and productivity metrics per weekly and monthly reporting cycles, and in accordance with government IPMR requirement
  • Experience with critical and driving path identification and analysis
  • Experience resource-loading schedules, including both labor and material
  • Familiarity with integrating external customer or subcontractor program activity into the Program master schedule
  • Ability to prepare and/or assist with preparation of internal and external customer reports

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of related scheduling experience in aerospace, construction or oil & gas industry - OR - Master's Degree and 3+ years of experience
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) scheduling discipline and experience with developing schedules that integrate with EVMS financial systems
  • Experience with MS Office, including Excel.
  • US Citizen.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, as needed, per business needs.

Basic Qualifications for Level 4:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of related scheduling experience in aerospace, construction or oil & gas industry - OR - Master's Degree and 8+ years of experience
  • Strong Understanding of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) scheduling discipline and experience with developing schedules that integrate with EVMS financial systems
  • Strong understanding of schedule baseline control with experience initiating program change requests to document and execute schedule changes
  • Proficient in scheduling using Primavera, MS Project, or equivalent
  • Experience with Acumen Fuse schedule analysis software (DCMA 14-Point), Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Milestones Professional presentation software
  • US Citizen.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, as needed, per business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cost management, finance management, or pricing and estimating.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel including the following:  pivot tables, vlookup, sumif, and conditional formatting.  


Salary Range: $74,600 USD - $111,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $92,400 USD - $138,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
