Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Pricing and Cost Estimating Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located on-site in our Roy, Utah office, and support our Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

We are seeking a highly qualified, effective leader to influence and enable the strategic direction of our Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division.  In this role, the Manager Pricing / Cost Estimating 3 will have accountability for Pricing and Estimating and manage and advance a team of analysts responsible for the development of cost products supporting multiple Business Units within the SDS Division.  This includes providing appropriate staff and oversight to the development of proposal cost volumes, and other pricing including but not limited to Budgetary Price, Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) and firm estimates, cost models, or other analysis required to support the objectives of the Division. 

In addition to managing employee staffing, training and development, this individual is responsible for all pricing activities to be in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and best practices to achieve operational excellence, financial performance and customer satisfaction. This individual will support Sector and Corporate Pricing Councils and provide resources and input to assist with identification and completion of key initiatives.  This individual will also be responsible for cultivating internal and external customer relationships and supporting Government/Industry forums and councils.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the Pricing and Estimating staffing, resources, tools, and training as needed.

  • Engage with business unit leadership to develop estimating strategies needed to successfully capture new business.

  • Leadership in the development of quality, timely and compliant cost proposals

  • Establish strategic relationships both internally with business unit leadership, and externally, with government counterparts.

  • Supporting DCMA/DCAA offices and Government Compliance regarding proposal and business system audits

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, STEM or related discipline with 8 years of experience in Cost Estimating and/or cross functional Business Management or Finance disciplines -OR- 6 years of stated experience with a Master’s Degree

  • Must have thorough understanding of pricing and estimating methodologies, quality, and compliance requirements (FAR/DFARS) related to cost volumes and Cost Estimating System requirements.

  • Proven ability to evaluate, integrate, and communicate financial impacts, cost issues and risks to senior and executive leadership.

  • Experience managing direct reports or proven ability to lead teams on complex projects through completion.

  • Successful in developing proposals with significant suppliers and/or Inter-Organizational content.

  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Pricing Software (I.e., ProPricer)

  • Experience in proposals of various contract types (e.g. CPIF, CPAF, CPFF, FFP, etc.) and of varying sizes.

  • Active DoD Secret clearance, with ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance. US citizenship is a prerequisite.

 
Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Persistence to meet deadlines in a challenging, multi-tasking environment.

  • Excellent leadership competencies

  • Experience in both development and production type contracts

  • Experience with supporting the development of Life Cycle Cost Estimates

  • Experience developing life cycle cost and budgetary planning estimates for Strategic Missiles or Systems

  • Active Top-Secret Clearance. US citizenship is a prerequisite.

Salary Range: $138,400 USD - $207,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
