    Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Principal Budget Analyst to support the Operations/Manufacturing organization. The Budget Analyst will support the Rates and Budgets Organization, Marine Systems Business Unit.  This position is located in Sunnyvale, CA and offers a hybrid work schedule (3 days per week in office).

    Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Evaluate processes across the Operations/Manufacturing organization with a focus on the standardization of best practices, processes, tools and procedures
    • Financial data collection, consolidation, interpretation, and analysis in an effort to maintain affordability and promote the predictability of future trends
    • Preparing financial plans and assessing impacts from Manufacturing productivity, utilization, and indirect expense spending
    • Preparing regular and special-purpose reports
    • Assessing organizational and operational changes to ensure financial impacts are properly evaluated and incorporated into budget forecast and plan
    • Presenting results of analysis for evaluation by Director level staff
    • Preparing comparative evaluation of actual costs against budget and key variance drivers

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Accounting plus 6 years of professionally related work experience,  or  a Master’s Degree with 4 years professional related work experience.
    • PC skills, specifically proficiency with Microsoft EXCEL
    • Proficiency with financial systems
    • Experience in Business Management/Finance organization is required
    • Experience analyzing and presenting result to management.   
    • Applicant must be a self-starter and work with minimal oversight.
    • US Citizenship is required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior operations experience is a plus.
    • Familiarity with SAP, Tableau, and internal financial budgeting systems
    • Prior overhead rates and budgeting experience

    Salary Range: $78,500 USD - $117,700 USD

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
