Northrop Grumman Weapons Systems is currently seeking a Business Management Analyst - Financial Level 3 or 4 for our Elkton, Maryland location. 

The Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers.  The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY, Palm Beach Gardens, FL and San Jose, CA.

Elkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Job Summary:

As a Business Management Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting our development programs. This position will work very closely with Northrop Grumman program management, operational leaders, and internal and external customers.

The Business Manager for the development lane will be a strategic business partner from the initial program pursuit through execution which will ensure a comprehensive understanding of multiple programs supporting the business lane.  This person will also be responsible for discretionary and capital reporting.   Many of the programs within this market area require the implementation of an Earned Value Management System (EVMS).  The business manager will be a key player in the establishment of the EVMS baseline and the primary point of contact for EVMS execution during the life of a program. 

You will be responsible for, but not limited to the following tasks:

  • Consolidate and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial market area reports including but not limited to awards, sales, operating margin, cash, sensitivities, and labor forecasting. Communicating with Market Area directors and Senior Managers any substantial changes to the financial plans immediately upon realization.
  • Review and ensure consistency on quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) reports and packages.
  • Support cash management activities including but not limited to proposal cash flow, cash negotiation plan, forecasting and collections.
  • Lead program specific activities including but not limited to program set-up, funding profiles, customer specific financial reports, internal and external program management reviews, and backlog validation and analysis.
  • Provide programmatic overview training and direction to individual financial analysts assigned to programs within the development lane.

This requisition may be filled at either as a Principal Business Management Analyst Level 3 or a Senior Principal Business Management Analyst Level 4.

Basic Requirements Principal Business Management Analyst Level 3:

  • This position emphasized skills and experience. Must have 10 or more years of finance experience. Will also consider a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field from an accredited four-year college or university (will be verified) and 6 years of experience or a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and 4 years of experience. 
  • Knowledge of applications in a computerized environment, including spreadsheet applications and data bases (e.g. MS Excel, MS Access, MS Power Point).
  • Independent self-starter and proactive contributor. Seeks to continually improve business processes and add value.  
  • Demonstrated success building partnerships across organizational boundaries.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in order to meet deadlines.  Organize deliverables in a clean and presentable format.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and build relationships with others
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Senior Principal Business Management Analyst Level 4:

  • This position emphasized skills and experience. Must have 14 or more years of finance experience. Will also consider a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field from an accredited four-year college or university (will be verified) and 10 years of experience or a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and 8 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of applications in a computerized environment, including spreadsheet applications and data bases (e.g. MS Excel, MS Access, MS Power Point).
  • Independent self-starter and proactive contributor. Seeks to continually improve business processes and add value.
  • Demonstrated success building partnerships across organizational boundaries.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in order to meet deadlines.  Organize deliverables in a clean and presentable format.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and build relationships with others.
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Prior team participation experience (professional/community/extracurricular)  
  • Experience in developing and delivering presentations and leading small groups  
  • Aerospace and/or DoD intern/working experience  
  • Knowledge of Earned value management systems (EVMS) 
  • Experience executing programs with contractual EVMS requirements. 
  • Prior Experience with Deltek financial applications (CostPoint, Cobra, OpenPlan, PM Compass)

Salary Range: $82,400 USD - $123,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $102,200 USD - $153,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
