Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks to fill the Sentinel Program Strategy and Planning (S&P) Business Manager role, Manager of Business Management 3, based out of our Roy, UT location.

The Strategy and Planning (S&P) Business Manager will have accountability for every aspect of day-to-day business management execution for the Sentinel Strategy and Planning team. The S&P Business Manager will ensure the business management operations generates and delivers all types of information needed for by the Sentinel Program Leadership team to make informed, effective decisions at the right time. The S&P Business Manager will oversee a self-contained, full-service business management team delivering support to the Sentinel Strategy and Planning Team’s work overseeing the evolution of our Sentinel business strategy.  The S&P Business Manager will partner with the Sentinel Program and Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) functional Business Management leadership to ensure required staffing, processes and infrastructure are available to efficiently execute their team’s scope. The S&P Business Manager works closely with the Strategy and Planning Director Program Director to align S&P Business Management Operations with strategic priorities and tactical tasking directed by program and S&P leadership. This position reports to the Sentinel Program Business Management Director.

Strategy and Planning Business Manager responsibilities include:

  • Leading all aspects of day-to-day S&P Business Management execution to ensure timely, accurate, and complete business data/information delivery to segment and IPT leadership enabling effective decision making.

  • Leading a multi-discipline Business Management team delivering support in developing growth strategies, proposal support, financial modeling, and investment oversight

  • Support program level development of AOP/LRSP financial and strategic commitments and strategies for growth to achieve and exceed said commitments

  • Ensure day-to-day contractual and programmatic change management outcomes are properly incorporated into forward looking assessments and financial models

  • Coordinate future assessments for changes in Financial Keylines and Forward Pricing Rate Proposals are coordinated with both Sentinel Program Finance and Division Rates and Budgets teams

  • Ensure S&P Business Management team has the tools, training, and resources to perform their roles and drive empowerment and decision making for Business Management equities to the appropriate levels.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.   

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited University with 8 years of experience in defense, aerospace, or other relevant industry, OR Masters's degree with 6 years of experience in defense, aerospace, or other relevant industry.

  • 2+ years leading and/or managing teams on complex projects

  • 2+ years leading business management teams in a fully compliant or deliberately tailored EVMS environment

  • Experience either in Business Management support to business capture activities or in Business Development supporting the generation of strategies to ensure delivery of compliant, compelling, and competitive proposals

  • Experience with developing or supporting the development of AOP/LRSP plans and commitments

  • Must have an active DoD Secret level security clearance and be Special Access Programs (SAP) clearable

  • Familiarity production program startup and government acquisition process to include Advanced Procurement and Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP)

  • Must have an active DoD Secret level security clearance and be Special Access Programs (SAP) clearable. US citizenship is a prerequisite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA, master’s degree in business related field or STEM field

  • Leadership experience with significant capture activities

  • Leadership experience with transition from development to production program phases

  • Experience with ICBM related programs and products

  • Ability to make tough, risk-based decisions and steer decisions based on evolving information

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance and additional SAP accesses. US citizenship is a prerequisite.


Salary Range: $125,700 USD - $188,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
