Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks to fill the Sentinel Schedule Manager role, Manager of Program Planning 3, based out of our Roy, UT location.

The Sentinel Scheduling Manager will have accountability for implementing, updating and maintaining an EVMS complaint schedule on the program. They will also be responsible for overseeing Day-to-day scheduling operations which will rely on the processes, infrastructure, tools, and training developed and deployed by the Scheduling Manager and the team of professionals supporting them. Additionally, the Scheduling Manager will be responsible for ensuring the scheduling implementation meets the reporting requirements along with providing analysis on metrics to provide insight into program performance and efficient decision making by leadership stakeholders.

Sentinel Scheduling Manager responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development, implementation, and validation of scheduling processes, infrastructure, tools, and reporting to support delivery of timely, accurate, and complete business data/information to program and segment leadership enabling effective decision making

  • Leading a team of scheduling professionals to ensure consistent scheduling practices are implemented across the Sentinel Program

  • Maintain ongoing cadence of schedule metrics to inform program leadership on matters of schedule performance

  • Maintaining and helping address system performance as needed with tools

  • Validating and working closely with cost manager on integration of cost and schedule

  • Overseeing multiple intermediate schedules to compile into IMS for the final deliverable

  • Address customer questions and concerns regarding the IMS

A successful candidate in this role will demonstrate:

  • Ability to cultivate and maintain trusted and empowered relationships with Internal Sentinel program and functional leaders and external counterparts

  • Success in flourishing in cross functional team environments mobilizing geographically distributed teams to the strategic objectives of large, complex organizations

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively both verbally, and in writing with all levels of management

  • Demonstrated success in empowering teams at the point of impact and fostering an environment of continuous learning and development

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited University with 8 years of experience in defense, aerospace, or other relevant industry, OR Masters's degree with 6 years of experience in defense, aerospace, or other relevant industry.

  • 2+ years leading and/or managing teams on complex projects

  • 2+ years leading business management teams in a fully compliant or deliberately tailored EVMS environment

  • Experience with complex development programs with significant subcontractor or Inter/Intra company content

  • Must have an active DoD Secret level security clearance and be Special Access Programs (SAP) clearable. US citizenship is a prerequisite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA, master’s degree in business related field or STEM field

  • Leadership experience with significant capture activities

  • Leadership experience with transition from development to production program phases

  • Experience with ICBM related programs and products

  • Ability to make tough, risk-based decisions and steer decisions based on evolving information

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance and additional SAP accesses. US citizenship is a prerequisite.


Salary Range: $138,400 USD - $207,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
