Northrop Grumman is seeking a Graphic Artist to join the Defense Systems Program. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Strike and Special Mission Aircraft Business Unit, Special Programs Logistics and Operations Unit in the Logistics and Modernization Division.

Job Description:

Provides graphic support, advice and guidance in support of company technical publication products, programs and systems. Provides expertise for resolving technical problems, troubleshoots product and modifies product to customer requirements. Technical drawing skills i.e. CATIA V5, NX, PTC IsoDraw/CREO, SolidWorks, and working knowledge of a CPLM Teamcenter environment. Blueprint reading and basic engineering/drafting knowledge. Basic graphic computer skills i.e. Abode CS, Excel, Word, and design experience and proficiency.

Initial responsibilities for the Graphic Artist will be to perform graphic related activities. Position will lead into responsibilities with the development and sustainment of technical publication graphics. Additional responsibilities will include assisting in the development of planning documentation and meeting facilitation.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent and 7 years of relevant experience. Will consider 3 years with Bachelor's Degree; or 1 year of experience with Master’s Degree.
  • Experience with, or ability to learn how to research engineering data, drawings, CAD models, technical manuals, and other subject matter/source data to develop and sustain technical publication graphics.
  • Specific requirements include technical drawing software proficiency, proficiency in Adobe CS and basic concept of graphic design and layout.
  • Experience in preparation of isometric exploded views of illustrations.
  • Experience in communicating detailed and technical data through visual means.
  • Understanding of photo manipulation and 3D visualization
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance before start date within 365 days of offer acceptance.
  • Must be obtain and retain Special Program access within 365 days from submission.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An active DoD Secret Clearance with ability to maintain with background investigation within the past 5 years.
  • It is desirable that the candidate be diversified between various graphic software disciplines.
  • Experience creating animations with Adobe Animate and/or After Effects.

Salary Range: $55,100 USD - $82,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
