Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Communications Representative to join our team in Roy UT.

As a Communications Representative you will support our external presence by partnering with communications and functional colleagues to provide end-to-end support for high-impact business engagements, thought leadership symposiums and industry trade shows and events. Your creativity, management skills and organizational planning will launch out of this world events, while your words and written communications will advance our brand, enhance our reputation, and help define us as a Deterrence leader.   • Are someone with demonstrable skills in developing strategic communications plans as well as the coordination, development and/or execution of content creation for scripts, digital, print, and other materials.

In this job, you’ll:

  • Report to the Communications Manager and join a team tasked with business, crisis and executive communications , editorial and content generation, and advocacy.
  • Show strong interpersonal communication skills – you’ll be interacting with partner organizations, core teams, and customer contacts in support of Strategic Deterrent Systems.
  • Be a team player with a strong drive for success, an upbeat attitude, and the confidence to share new ideas to shape exciting events or improvements in processes, planning, and project management.
  • Maintain a detail-oriented mindset with organizational strengths and adherence to time management and deadlines; provide periodic progress reports for each event and project.   
  • Manage the budget, logistics, planning, and operations for tradeshows and division leadership engagements with internal and external audiences.
  • Assist in investigating, identifying, and pursuing potential valuable events to support leadership engagement and division reputation.
  • Partner across teams on the development of external products and customer communication materials to track and drive performance, reputation, and engagement against defined objectives.
  • Draft, edit and lead the design of promotional and collateral materials, conference papers, social media posts, speeches, business proposals, communications , and case studies.
  • Have the physical strength to package, lift and transport small promotional items.
  • Remain flexible when work and travel is required.

About Communications:

Our team is responsible for all internal and external communications activities supporting the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division of Northrop Grumman’s Space Solutions business, including:

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3: 

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or other liberal arts field) with 6+ years of experience in communications , media, marketing, and/or public relations – OR – 4+ years of experience as outlined above with Master-level degree. 

Basic Qualifications for a Level 4: 

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or other liberal arts field) with 10+ years of experience in communications , media, marketing, and/or public relations – OR – 8+ years of experience as outlined above with Master-level degree. 

Additional Basic qualifications for both levels:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail, follow through and the ability to successfully prioritize when faced with multiple deadlines and limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated use of tact, diplomacy, protocol, discretion, and judgment.
  • Success at managing strategic outreach to stakeholder communities, customers, or business partners.
  • History of integrating and synchronizing communications or events between multiple organizations.
  • Basic understanding of incorporating metrics and analytics into documentation.
  • Ability to obtain a government security clearance. US citizenship is a prerequisite.
  • Ability to travel 25% to support division events.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree and experience in communications , media, marketing, and/or public relations with a minimum of 4 years of communications experience in an enterprise organization.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Aerospace and defense industry experience, and familiarity with DoD and global government customers.
  • Experience remaining within a budget while directing multiple service contractors and subcontractors orchestrating large scale events supporting senior company executives to include negotiating space contracts, arranging food and beverages, ordering supplies, and ensuring appropriate décor.
  • Ability to write summary reports for executive-level audiences.
  • Strong organization, collaboration, presentation and facilitation skills, and the ability to navigate at all levels of the organization; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent business acumen, written and verbal communication, program management and problem-solving skills.
  • Current and active Department of Defense Secret or Top-Secret security clearance.  US citizenship is a prerequisite.

Salary Range: $74,600 USD - $111,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $92,400 USD - $138,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
