As a member of the Northrop Grumman Employee Communications, Functional Leadership Communications team, the Manager of Communications 3 provides strategic communications counsel to the teams supporting the Corporate Vice President of Global Operations and the Chief Information Officer and Vice President of CIO. As an experienced strategist, you will be responsible for expertly translating the Global Operations and CIO visions and strategies into a compelling and effective narrative that showcases Northrop Grumman’s commitment to performance excellence.

This full-time position reports to the Director of Functional Leadership Communications within the Employee Communications team.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Functional Communications in the execution of a comprehensive, strategic communications strategy to support and generate momentum for the Global Operations and Chief Information Office strategic agendas.

  • Lead teams in the day-to-day operations to advance all aspects of communications for the functional teams – including internal and external communications such as communications plans, stories, messaging, presentations, talking points, video scripts and speeches.  

  • Develop and implement wide-ranging integrated communications plans and compelling narratives for major programs/initiatives that drive key elements of Northrop Grumman’s strategy.

  • Collect and analyze data, make recommendations to improve our approach and the results of future communications , processes, events, and activities.

  • Provide leadership, management and coaching to a team of driven communicators.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 10 years of communications experience successfully developing and deploying communications practices OR Master's degree with 8 years of communications experience successfully developing and deploying communications practices

  • People leadership experience, with commitment to talent development.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with track record of overseeing communications programs in leadership roles.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

  • Affinity for developing solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.

  • Strong business acumen and executive presence with a history of cultivating trusting relationships with executive leaders.

  • The ability to distill complex and sometimes voluminous technical processes, programs and content into clear, concise and engaging communications .

  • Experience leveraging data to create and execute communications strategies, plans, programs and events.

  • Experience in media and external engagements.

  • Understanding of AP writing style.


Salary Range: $145,500 USD - $218,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
