Northrop Grumman SSSD is seeking an Operations Support Manager 2, looking to work as a member of an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) leadership team at a field site located in Alice Springs, AU.

Role Description:

The Operations Support Manager (OSM) 2 is the technical project manager and functional manager for the Operations Support Department (OSD).  The Operations Support Department team is comprised of Responsible Systems Engineers, Performance Monitoring Engineers, Trainers, and Systems Analysists that provide subject matter expertise for a diverse set of systems to the overall operations team.  The OSM and OSD team are responsible for leading anomaly recovery efforts, certification training, and maximizing system availability and operational capability. 

In this role, your responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to: 

• Oversee and lead the Operations Support Department (OSD) personnel to include: analysis standards, engineering best practices, cross-team collaboration, system technical expertise advancement, and flexible operations support 
• Obtain and maintain an advanced operations certification and support crew backfill as required 
• Oversee the technical preparation and execution of Special Action Procedures, nominal system maintenance activities, anomaly recovery efforts
• Project taks manager and execution manager for site certification training activities, analysis tool development and enhancement, and ongoing support to operational product maintenance and operational tool capabilities.
• Mentor team members functionally to support their career development and goals while also mentoring them to increase their engineering skills and technical program abilities   
• Utilize Agile processes and tools that include Jira, Confluence, and Git to manage departmental projects and tasking
• Collaborate with the program Enterprise team and cross-site operations team to realize commonality efficiencies and distributed global operations resources 
• Work with the Site Operations Manager, Operations Engineering Manager and Software Engineering Lead as part of the Operations Leadership team

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution with five (5) years of relevant technical experience in any engineering field such as mechanical, electrical, computer science, or optical engineering
• Experience leading people, projects, or teams with the ability to develop and maintain a culture of diversity and inclusion
• Experience working in a real-time command and control operations environment
• Ability to review and edit scripts in at least one of the following: Perl, Java, C/C++, Python, Visual Basic, Matlab
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance / SCI Access plus a counterintelligence (CI) polygraph examination.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Active DoD Top Secret Clearance / SCI Access with a counterintelligence (CI) polygraph examination adjudicated within the last four years.


Salary Range: $134,400 USD - $201,600 USD
