Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a motivated candidate to join the Electronics and Payloads Directorate as a Staff FPGA/ASIC Design and Verification Engineer. The selected applicant will become a pivotal part of the implementation of Digital Communication Designs for space applications. This position is based at our Space Park campus in Manhattan Beach, CA.

Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • VHDL design of ASIC and/or FPGA logic, with an emphasis in Digital Signal Processing

  • FPGA/ASIC verification via simulation and emulation (lab testing), synthesis, timing analysis, and place and route for FPGA

  • Developing and presenting design reviews for internal and external customers

  • FPGA design for Space environment or Space Application

  • Mentor and oversee a small team of design engineers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or another STEM Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with 14+ years of experience; or STEM Master's Degree with 12+ years of experience; or STEM PhD. Degree with 9+ years of experience

  • 10 years of experience in RTL design using VHDL or Verilog for digital technology

  • Previous experience in space applications

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain an active Government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

- Digital Signal Processing experience for digital communications

- Hands-on lab experience with testing of digital hardware is highly desired

- Familiar with UVM verification methodology

- Active Secret Clearance

Salary Range: $177,100 USD - $265,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
