Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (NGAS) has a unique opportunity available to add to a specialized team for a Manager, Advanced Design Visualization. This position will lead and perform advanced design visualization in support of Aircraft Advanced Design and other directorates within Advanced Design, including design/visualization of advanced concepts, human systems interfaces, and the operator/user experience.

The position will be based within our Redondo Beach, CA office, with limited to no opportunity for remote or telework at this time due to program needs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 9 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in engineering, program management, or related field involving government programs, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 7 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in engineering, program management, or related field involving government programs.
  • At least 2 years of team lead and/or management experience.
  • Possess a current DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Expert proficiency with engineering design and visualization tools (i.e., computer aided design such as NX or CATIA and rendering tools to include Adobe Photoshop and Autodesk Alias)
  • Experience in the design and visualization of human systems environments and the operator/user experience, including crew protective systems, crew station design and interfaces, and life support systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science or Masters of Science Degree in Industrial Design
  • Extensive (20+ years) of experience in industrial design as applied to advanced aerospace applications
  • Hold one or more US patents relevant to crew protective systems, crew station design and interfaces, and life support systems
  • Experience in the conceptual design of advanced aerospace vehicles
  • Ability to obtain and maintain program access as necessary for scope of work within timeframe to meet business needs.


    Salary Range: $160,200 USD - $240,400 USD

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
