Overview:
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Level 3 (M03) Manager to lead a Design Services Section within Baltimore’s Hardware Synergy organization.  This is a manager-of-managers position, overseeing 4 managers who lead ~ 50 employees.  

This section is currently comprised of 4 engineering teams responsible for parts and components management and production engineering. The parts and components management teams support requirements and documentation development and maintenance for supplier parts and assemblies.  They also support management of diminishing material sources, parts standards, issuing product alerts and confirming adherence to industry specifications.  The production engineering teams support the entire product life cycle from initial design documentation development through documentation support for fielded systems. These engineering groups support electronic and mechanical systems for airborne, ground based, shipboard and space applications. 

Role and Responsibilities

The position entails the following tasks in addition to manager responsibilities:

  • Support creation and onboarding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes using a TeamCenter based infrastructure
  • Support implementation of PLM process changes.
  • Support process improvement initiatives
  • Develop proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external customers
  • Maintain and ensure application of processes and guidelines within the section
  • Manage a budget and monitoring of indirect labor charging

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering or STEM field
  • Typical Minimum Education/Experience: 10 years with Bachelors in Science
  • Prior first level management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership of diverse and inclusive teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Candidate must have the demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and possess strong presentation skills
  • Experience with TeamCenter and Siemens applications hosted on TeamCenter
  • Experience with product documentation development
  • US citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain at least a Secret Clearance

Preferred qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or STEM field
  • Secret or Top Secret clearance
  • Knowledge of product life cycle
  • Knowledge of radar systems and defense electronics
  • Knowledge of managing Diminishing Material Sources


Salary Range: $153,000 USD - $229,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
