Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to join the Flight Systems Team (FST). This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. A competitive relocation package may be offered.

What You’ll Get To Do:

The selected candidate will report to the On Board Test Equipment (OBTE) Design Integration Manager and OBTE Chief Engineer and is responsible for electrical design and engineering analysis of RF and electrical Line Replaceable Units (LRUs). Specific roles and duties include:

  • Schematic analysis and design review

  • Manage electrical interface characteristics

  • Develop vehicle block diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and cables

  • Support testing of OBTE systems test in a lab and on vehicle environment

  • Provide technical oversight and issue resolution for Onboard Test Equipment (OBTE) hardware during development and test

  • Provide technical direction and support to the hardware, software, and systems engineering teams in the development and documentation of hardware/software interfaces, including electrical harness design, routing, and RF system design

  • Assist OBTE IPT Lead and OBTE Chief Engineer in risk identification and tracking, especially risks associated with Flight Termination and Telemetry

  • Liaison between OBTE and AVE I&T for issues related to OBTE and integration/test

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 14 years of experience; 12 years with Master’s Degree; 9 years with PhD

  • Experience developing and managing technical requirements for military/aerospace subcontractors

  • Strong CAD skills with experience developing wire diagrams or electrical schematics

  • Experience designing, analyzing, and developing a power budget for an electrical power system of a military / aerospace system

  • Experience developing multi discipline system architecture for a military / aerospace system

  • Active DoD Secret clearance, granted or re-investigated within last 6 years

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Prior weapon system experience (GBSD, Minuteman III or similar military or industry experience)

  • Familiarity with Siemens Capital cable design tool or equivalent

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Systems Engineering

  • Experience leading TEMPEST or EMI efforts in product development

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance granted or re-investigated within last 6 years

Salary Range: $139,000 USD - $208,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
