Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Electrical Computer Aided Design (ECAD) Librarian OR a Principal Electrical Computer Aided Design Librarian. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. 

This role can be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3

What You’ll Get To Do:

  • Candidate will be responsible to develop and maintain libraries of EEE parts within eCAD tools, specifically Mentor Xpedition and Siemens Capital.

  • Candidate will collaborate with electrical, components, manufacturing, and other engineering disciplines to support the design of weapon systems and equipment under an overarching Systems Engineering and full lifecycle management framework.

  • Candidate will demonstrate ability to develop part models for EEE parts within Xpedition and Captial eCAD libraries.

  • Candidate will conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with circuit designers and/or product line engineers in design, development, and utilization of software to create a representation of components for the electrical tool library.

  • Candidate must be detail-oriented and have a background in CAD usage and knowledge of part specs.

  • Develop and maintain symbol and cell generation libraries.

  • Create and review library components, symbols, and cells in accordance with established NGC and IPC industry guidelines meeting high levels of accuracy.

  • Generate support documentation to meet NGC standards.

  • Candidate will demonstrate a general understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts relative to EEE parts management.

  • Candidate will demonstrate general knowledge of Systems Engineering, multi-generational program system and/or multi-generational program subsystem development, and familiarity with supplier management.

  • Candidate is expected to work independently to provide innovative technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

  • A successful candidate will bring a strong ability to understand, implement and adhere to documented processes. 

  • Attention to detail and an inherent ability to interpret datasheets, along with a capacity to make sound decisions.

  • Candidate will be self-motivated, work under general direction, and work well in teams. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is essential. 

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and sustain a Secret Security Clearance.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  

Job Qualifications: 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Engineer Circuit Design:  2 Years of experience with Bachelors’ degree and a minimum of 1 years of experience working with eCAD library maintenance; OR 0 Years of related work experience with Masters; 4 years of additional experience maybe considered in lieu of degree.

  • Principal Engineer Circuit Design:  5 Years of experience with Bachelors’ degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience working with eCAD library maintenance; 3 Years with Masters; or 0 Years with PHD;  4 years of additional experience maybe considered in lieu of degree.

  • Must have the ability to obtain DOD Secret Clearance and obtain and retain Special Program access clearance.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must be proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. 

  • Experience using Mentor Xpedition and/or Capital eCAD tools.

  • Experience working with IPC standards for cell creation in support of PCB layout, land patterns, and/or acceptance criteria.
     

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or other degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

  • Thorough understanding of wiring harness assemblies and design, printed circuit board design.

  • Background and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) for EEE parts.

  • Experience with Siemens NX, and Siemens Teamcenter.

  • An Active, In-Scope DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years.

  • Special Program Access.

  • Working knowledge of military and industry standards for EEE parts and assemblies.

  • Familiar with technical drawings and engineering data for EEE parts and assemblies.

  • Experience and familiarity with life cycle management.

  • Familiar with supply chain management as it relates to EEE parts management and obtaining technical specifications on components.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.

Salary Range: $73,400 USD - $110,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
