The Digital Products Department (part of NG Strategic Space Systems) in Manhattan Beach, CA is seeking a talented Engineer Digital 5 - Staff Level. This person will be required to develop, test, and integrate complex digital hardware and support test systems for spacecraft flight programs. Additionally, this person will have the opportunity to provide technical mentorship and guidance to our junior engineers.  

As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to leverage your knowledge and expertise.

  • Support with department training curriculum development

  • Provide proposal support.

  • To develop verification plans.

  • Architect and implement verification environments of prototypes to class A space hardware.

  • Leverage UVM throughout the verification process.

  • Generate verification and test plans for digital board/units.

  • Generation of verification artifacts necessary to sell off space hardware.

  • Support/Lead unit verification efforts, test-set requirements development, environmental testing definition.

  • Resolves or oversees resolution of off-nominal test data.

  • Support/Lead subsystem level Integration & test.

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM from an accredited institution and 14+ years of experience in an Engineering environment; OR, a minimum of 12+ years of experience with a STEM Master's degree; OR a minimum of 9+ years of experience with STEM PhD. degree

  • Hands-on lab experience with electronic hardware

  • Candidate must be willing to obtain and maintain, a U.S. Government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Board/unit verification.

  • Experience in FPGA/Software design and development

  • Experience in Universal Verification Methodology (UVM)/SystemVerilog.

  • Experience performing formal verification of digital space flight hardware.

  • Experience with emulation efforts.

  • Knowledgeable of verification environment (architecture definition, development, and maintenance.)

  • Experience with digital signal processing and/or FPGA design experience

  • Experience with engineering support to manufacturing including hardware troubleshooting.

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution

Salary Range: $177,100 USD - $265,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
