About Your Opportunity:

The Chief Engineer expertly leads a multi-disciplinary engineering team across the entire solution lifecycle, solving challenging problems through innovative design.

Holding overall responsibility for the design, implementation, set-to-work, production engineering, manufacture, operational evaluation, and continuous improvement of a high-performance software defined radio for defence airborne platforms.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor engineering team to ensure coherence, effective communication, and satisfactory performance across the team.
  • Engaging client stakeholders to capture, refine and trade requirements and operational scenarios, and solve integration challenges.
  • Architectural design of SDR framework in conjunction with other stakeholders from the company’s wider international business.
  • Trade-space analysis of evolving solution, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, using model based system engineering (MBSE) techniques covering SWaP-C principles.
  • Leading detailed RF electronics (hardware) design, set-to-work and test.

Your Experience:

  • Understanding of RF circuit design in UHF band including downconverters and digitisers.
  • Practical expertise in the design and modelling of Systems Architecture
  • Experience in DSP engine/firmware design for radio communications .
  • Exemplary knowledge of software design principles.
  • Environmental and EMC testing knowledge.
