Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking to fill an Electrical Integration and Test position for a multi-faceted role supporting the GQM-163A Program.

Job Responsibilities:

The candidate will be part of the Integration and Test group supporting the GQM-163A Program requiring the candidate to function in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment.  Responsibilities will require direct contact with launch vehicle flight hardware and solid rocket motors as part of engineering development, manufacturing, and field operations. 

Specific Technical duties may include:

  • Develop test plans to support engineering development efforts.

  • Writing and reviewing assembly and test work instructions for manufacturing and field applications.

  • Executing subsystem and system level testing – both in engineering development and manufacturing environments.

  • Incorporating design changes on work in process or completed assemblies; documenting and dispositioning hardware discrepancies and pursuing root cause and corrective actions.

  • Writing technical documentation including test reports and technical presentations.

  • The candidate must be willing to occasionally work during odd hours (nights/weekends) and occasionally longer than normal (>40 hrs/wk) to meet program deadlines. 

  • The candidate will help develop the concept of operation for integration and test activities for the preparation and execution of flight test operations at the launch range.

  • The candidate should possess a strong resolve to drive tasks to completion autonomously.

Specific Logistical Support duties may include:

  • Lead the Configuration Management of program field Ground Support Equipment (GSE).  Task includes the implementation of new and upgraded GSE, and updates required to address obsolete GSE components.

  • Develop key GSE management improvement initiatives to strengthen the support of field operations.

  • Develop methodologies to improve the visibility of GSE status and locations; lead the tracking of required calibrations and certifications.

  • Work with the Government Property organization to manage government owned GSE.

  • Work directly with the customers Logistics organizations to identify key areas for process improvements – drive improvement programs to closure.

  • Write Logistics Support contract specified documents to support ongoing support contracts.

  • The candidate must be willing to travel for long durations (4-8 weeks) to support field operations at the launch range. Travel to but not limited to US west coast, possible international travel, requiring a passport. 

Skills and Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will be able to work independently and complete assigned tasks without direct supervision.

  • Ability to solve problems, support troubleshooting efforts, drive tasks to completion.

  • Ability to identify systemic problems and develop proposed solutions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present and interface directly with the customer community.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks concurrently.

  • Ability to work in a team environment, and lead small projects or teams.

  • Experience working with design, integration, or testing of launch vehicles is highly desired.

  • Ability to travel: Travel expectation – up to 25%

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Minimum Education / Experience: Bachelor degree and 2 years experience; will consider Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering Technology with relevant directly applicable experience.

  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain a U.S. Passport for travel.

  • Experience or exposure to avionics production, testing, system integration, testing, and vehicle launch operations experience is highly preferred.

  • Skills to write test procedures and review test data to ensure that hardware is tested properly and has passed all required tests.

  • Hands on integration experience with multiple sub-systems or components is required.

  • Experience in hardware Configuration Management practices.

  • Exposure to Logistical Support organizations managing significant field operations.

  • Ability to travel: Travel expectation – up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education / Experience: Bachelors in Science - Electrical Engineering Technology and 4 years experience

  • Experience with Northrop Grumman LV I&T standards/guidelines and expectations.

  • Experience with Northrop Grumman internal Manufacturing Execution Systems Costpoint (MES).

  • Experience with external customer interfacing (meetings, presentations, operational planning).

  • Experience working with operational hazards such as propulsive devices, pressurized systems, overhead lifting, and high voltage systems.

  • Hands on configuration management experience, managing fielded support equipment.

  • Hands on logistics support experience coordinating and tracking equipment movement domestically and internationally.


Salary Range: $60,600 USD - $90,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
