Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Staff Electronics Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA, but can be located in either El Segundo, CA or Rancho Bernardo, CA with additional travel. The successful candidate will be the Comms technical lead for the Comms and Payloads IPT for an engineering sustainment contract.

The Staff Electronics Engineer will be responsible for:
•    Acting as the technical lead responsible for the communications segment in support of a sustainment effort contract
•    Briefing both customer and program leadership on technical performance and challenges faced within the comms segment
•    Managing and supporting system performance in an operational environment, as well as in lab environment, to include real time troubleshooting support and post-test data analysis 
•    Addressing and correcting deliverable subsystem deficiencies and enhancements via program identified tools/systems to improve deliverable performance for operational use
•    Working within IPT leadership to prioritize and manage tasking of reachback engineering teams and responsible engineers in support of contract efforts
•    Reporting Comms subsystem status to program and IPT leadership and identifying risks/issues/concerns in order to prevent increased cost or schedule loss

Basic Qualifications:
•    Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with 14 years of related experience OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of related experience or a PhD with 10 years of experience
•    Active DoD Top Secret security clearance

•    Ability to acquire SAP clearance (not required to start)

•    Up to 25% travel (50% if located in El Segundo or Rancho Bernardo)

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Experience and familiarity with common data link waveforms 
•    Experience in communications system integration and testing in all phases of program cycle
•    Familiarity with common industry standards related to communications systems, such as MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, RS-232, IPv4/IPv6
•    Experience with Networking infrastructure at both the Layer 2 and Layer 3
•    Experience with RF based test equipment to include spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters
•    Active DoD Top Secret security clearance and active SAP clearance

Salary Range: $161,000 USD - $241,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
