Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking an Electronics Engineer with experience in Cable and Harness design to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Palmdale, CA. We are looking for someone who is able to report on-site daily.


The successful applicant will perform design and analysis of cable and harness assemblies at the system level.  Candidate must have experience in interface and cable design and experience with MIL-STD components, including connectors, and wires.  Experience with system interconnect and system architecture is critical for success. The position requires working with multi-discipline functions in a team environment to ensure that deliverable products meet requirements. 

Specific assignments include: 
•    Manufacturing support
•    Make technical presentations to internal team or customer team
•    Development of cable drawings (schematic, wirelist, assembly), parts selection, and trade studies
•    Troubleshooting to support anomaly resolution
•    Pro-actively communicate with multiple other subsystems to negotiate interface requirements

This position may be filled as either a Principal Electronics Engineer or a Senior Principal Electronics Engineer.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Electronics Engineer:
•    Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 5 years or related electronics engineering experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM field and 3 years of related electronics engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM field with 0 years of related experience.
•    Experience with Wiring and Harness Design tools
•    Experience with MIL-STD-38999
•    Active, in scope DoD Secret clearance
•    Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer:
•    Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 9 years or related electronics engineering experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM field and 7 years of related electronics engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM field with 4 years of related electronics engineering experience.
•    Experience with Wiring and Harness Design tools
•    Experience with MIL-STD-38999
•    Active, in scope DoD Secret clearance (US Citizenship Required)
•    Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:
•    Experience with CATIA V5 modeling tools or similar systems for design of equipment installations and supporting structure.
•    Experience using TeamCenter Engineering and Enterprise configuration management tools 
•    Experience with HarnesSys tool for harness build to print (BTP) creation.


Salary Range: $104,600 USD - $157,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $129,700 USD - $194,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
