Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems has an opening for a Staff Electronics Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be primarily located in Palmdale, CA. 25% travel may be required.

Essential Functions:

  • Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Electronics Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.

  • Research, design, development, and test of a variety of electronic equipment and systems (Communications, Network, RF, Subsystems, etc.).

  • Reporting status to Program Managers and IPT Management.

  • The selected candidate should be a self-starter and thrive working in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, engaged in assignments across multiple engineering disciplines, within a collaborative/team setting on all levels of the organization.

  • Qualified candidates should be prepared to research, design, develop, and test a variety of electronic equipment and systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 14 or more years of engineering experience or MS with 12 years or more year of engineering experience or Ph.D. with 9 or more years of engineering experience

  • Must have experience working with electronic systems.

  • Active, in-scope Secret clearance or DoE equivalent; (Must have at a minimum active Secret or DoE equivalent to be considered; Being granted program access may or may not be a requirement before a start date can be determined)

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in Engineering.

  • Active in-scope Top Secret or DoE equivalent

  • Practical experience working with other airborne payload systems in addition to electronic systems.

  • Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems, develop solutions, and make decisions that impact the organization’s credibility, operations, and services. 

  • Documented ability to interpret numerical data for reporting purposes and prepare and analyze data and figures.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment.

  • Supplier Management Experience

  • Current Special Program access or the ability to gain Special Program Access may be required post hire


Salary Range: $161,000 USD - $241,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
