Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently looking for an Assistant Department Manager (ADM) for the Power and Control (P&C) Department - an organization of 80 plus engineers and technicians that develops Power Electronics/Subsystems, Power Converters, Control Electronics, LaserCom Electronics, Mixed Signal Units, Frequency Synthesizers, PWM Controller ASICs for a variety of space and air programs. This role will be based in Redondo Beach, California.
As a key member of the P&C Department leadership team, the selected candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the functional team including employee development & mentoring, performance management, personnel recruiting & retention, staffing, communications, technical support to programs and technology/business development efforts. Candidates must possess strong initiative, a demonstrated ability to multiplex in a dynamic environment, a responsive attitude, and a proven ability to balance competing program and functional demands. Must demonstrate the ability to create a collaborative, engaging working environment, and an ability to manage competing interests/priorities are highly desirable.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline with 8+ years of experience in engineering
Minimum 8 years of either design, development or manufacturing of Space hardware experience
Prior leadership experience as a technical, program, functional manager or team lead
Ability to manage engineers in a process driven environment
Must have the ability to obtain/maintain a DOD Secret/SCI clearance
US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
A Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline with experience in Power or Mixed Signal unit/slice/board design
Experience in mixed signal modeling and simulation tools (PSpice, Simetrix, Mathcad)
Experience supporting proposal activities
Experience with requirements development, system integration, and flight/production test activities
CAM/EVMS experience
Knowledge of Functional Homeroom processes (e.g., Staffing, Processes, Metrics, Training)
Experience in process greening, digital transformation initiatives, skillset knowledge transfer
Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance
