Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Principal Electronics & Payloads Engineer / Sr. Principal Electronics & Payloads Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future.  This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. 

**This position may be filled by either a Principal Electronics & Payloads Engineer level or a Sr. Principal Electronics & Payloads Engineer level based on the qualifications listed.

In this role the candidate will work for the Mission Systems IPT and will contribute amongst a team to perform requirements analysis, technical trade studies, formally manage risks, independently develop interface control documents, and develop supplier Procurement Specifications.   The successful candidate must possess in-depth knowledge of related hardware and software requirements and experience in the definition, design, integration, test, and certification (end-to-end development). 

The candidate will be expected to thoroughly understand all system requirements, specifications, and interface control documents, prepare, monitor, and update program schedules, conduct and participate in all related design reviews, and provide technical guidance to the cross-functional team.   The candidate will collaborate with subsystem responsible engineers, mission management hardware engineers, and system test engineers.  Daily activities include architecture development and CAMEO modeling.  Specific tasks performed in this role are system integration, functional and physical architecture modeling, and test planning.  

Essential Functions:

• An ability to operate/communicate effectively with leadership, customer, suppliers, engineers, and technicians. 
• Write/draft, interpret, allocate, tailor, and flow down requirements to all design levels.
• Author design guidelines, review test procedures, test reports, technical analyses, participate in cross discipline design reviews, develop models and perform analyses on components, subsystems, and systems in accordance with governmental and non-governmental standards, for example MIL-STD-810 and DO-160 and travel to supplier sites to guide/witness tests.

Basic Qualifications:

For – Electronics & Payloads Engineer (T03):

• Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience OR Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of experience OR 0 years’ experience with PhD for T03.
• Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years.

Basic Qualifications:

For – Electronics & Payloads Engineer (T04):

• Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of experience OR Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 7 years of experience OR 4 years’ experience with PhD for T04.
• Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency with Matlab, Simulink, DOORS, Cameo
• Experience performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Salary Range: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USD

Salary Range 2: $108,600 USD - $163,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
