Northrop Grumman offers a challenging career opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within the Mission Systems sector at our Rolling Meadows, IL facility.

The selected candidate(s) will work in a dynamic, people and mission-focused environment where he/she will interact with product designers, manufacturing technicians, quality engineering and process engineering. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Engineering team, where they will work in the Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Test Area supporting a variety of product lines as a Test Engineer.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Researches, designs, develops, tests and identifies improvements / corrective actions for a variety of circuit card assemblies along with an assortment of test equipment and associated systems. Having experience in programming in Basic, VBA or National Instruments Labview is a plus.

  • Troubleshooting production hardware to determine root cause of failures and identify corrective actions
  • Supporting production floor and test technicians
  • Reviewing CCA designs for testability
  • Maintaining process and procedures in accordance with ISO standards
  • Working with suppliers and design engineering to resolve technical hardware issues
  • Creating and analyzing metrics to target cost improvements
  • Hardware integration and test
  • Development and maintenance of In-Circuit Test (ICT) fixtures and test software
  • Development and maintenance of JTAG tests and programming
  • Create engineering documentation (change notices, parts lists, bills of materials, test reports, test procedures)

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering technology

5+ years of related experience

Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

Ability to troubleshoot CCA failures, identify root cause and determine repair actions

Experience with development and maintenance of In-Circuit Test fixtures and software

Experience with JTAG testing and development for CCAs

Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance and US Citizenship


Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience with Keysight 3070 In-Circuit Test Systems

Cadence Allegro fundamentals

Programming skills in Basic, VBA or LabView

Understanding of Design For Test (DFT) concepts


Salary Range: $99,800 USD - $149,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
