The Principal Electronics Engineer/Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer position requires a mix of Test Fixture and Software design skills. Experience with DC, Analog, Digital & RF test & measurement equipment; and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting complex electronic systems. Typical Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Understanding design to cost, scope, and schedule

  • Requirements definition

  • Design of electromechanical test fixture & software test solutions

  • Manufacturing support during the hardware build process

  • Integration of test fixtures & software into a functioning test solution

  • Test equipment & software certification per customer requirements

  • Test system deployment and factory support

  • Software maintenance and/or hardware fixture update initiatives

  • Basic Qualifications Principal Electronics Engineer:

    You must satisfy one of the following education/experience criteria to be considered for this position:

    • Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5 years’ experience, Master's degree in STEM with 3 years’ experience, Ph.D degree in STEM with 0 years’ experience

     

    Plus:

    • The ability to read and interpret specifications, schematics and block diagrams

    • Mix of hardware and software skills

    • Experience in text based programming (e.g. C / C++)

    • Background and working knowledge in RF theory and concepts

    • Effective verbal and written communication

    • Experience with test & measurement equipment

    • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

    Basic Qualifications Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer:

    You must satisfy one of the following education/experience criteria to be considered for this position:

    • Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 9 years’ experience, Master's degree in STEM with 7 years’ experience, Ph.D degree in STEM with 4 years’ experience

    Plus:

    • The ability to read and interpret specifications, schematics and block diagrams

    • Mix of test fixture and software design skills

    • C/C++ software programming experience

    • Background and working knowledge of RF theory and concepts

    • Effective verbal and written communication

    • Experience with test & measurement equipment e.g. o'scope, Spectrum Analyzer

    • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Advanced degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline

    • Test design and integration background

    • Ability to work with minimal direction and guidance

    • Experience with LabWindows CVI, C/C++ programming

    • LabView programming

    • Experience with schematic design tools (e.g. Mentor Graphics, Zuken, etc.)

    • Proficiency with digital, analog, RF test equipment, RF theory and high speed digital design

    • Familiarity with differential digital interfaces like LVDS - PXI/PXIe and VME bus experience

    • Hands-on troubleshooting of electronic hardware

    • Active clearance


Salary Range: $96,900 USD - $145,300 USD
Salary Range 2: $120,000 USD - $180,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
