Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a leader to manage a team of high performing diverse individuals with cross functional skills in Baltimore, MD. The individual will be responsible for managing a team responsible for creating digital and power designs to test Subsystems for airborne electronic systems applications.

Roles and responsibilities

  • People leadership for an engineering design organization, to include performance management, career development, staffing, and merit planning 
  • Provide project and technical oversight for design activities performed by the group
  • Provide ownership of and direction to the design processes used in the group
  • Provide proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external customers
  • Support department initiatives, recruiting, technology roadmap creation, cross-campus/sector involvement, and NCTA project leadership 

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 9 years of related engineering experience with Bachelor's degree or minimum 7 years of related experience with a Master's
  • Basic understanding of the Design, Manufacturing and Test process
  • Basic understanding of a functional management role
  • Demonstrated leadership including team building and navigation, technical and inter-personal problem resolution, and mentoring
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret (or higher) clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Engineering Leadership, or equivalent
  • Previous functional management experience
  • Experience as Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, or other demonstrated leadership role to a program office
  • Experience in Engineering Design or Systems
  • Clear understanding of Earned Value and SPI/CPI in determining the critical path of a project, EAC and experience preparing workload forecasts
  • Current TS/SCI


Salary Range: $141,100 USD - $211,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
