Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Test Engineer, Electronics to join our System Integration Test & Evaluation (SIT&E) system test team of qualified, diverse individuals.  The SIT&E Team is responsible for completing verification of system level hardware and software capabilities developed and integrated for a classified program. This position will be located in Oklahoma City, OK. 

As an electronics test engineer, you’ll be responsible for level III system verification efforts.  You’ll utilize your understanding of system test to create test procedures based on Level III requirements, develop an expert understanding of your assigned subsystem, and utilize test infrastructure to dry run and execute system level verification. 

This position may require occasional shift work and overtime.  Hours may have to shift from time to time as lab availability changes and flexibility in working hours is a must.  Additionally, the nature of this position requires individuals to be comfortable working full time in a classified development environment; cell phones or personal electronic devices are prohibited within these areas.  All work must be performed at the facility.  No work-from-home arrangements are available.

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM discipline from an accredited university with 9 years of industry experience; or 7 years of industry experience w/Master’s degree in STEM; or a PhD in STEM with 4 years of industry experience.
  • Current active DOD Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR). This PAR must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
  • Experience in providing technical support to test programs (including aircraft OFP updates and laboratory instrumentation sets) from planning phase to post-test review and closeout phase
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553 communication protocol

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable in Air Force life cycle sustainment processes
  • Knowledgeable in IFC development processes
  • Knowledgeable in Agile SW development methodology
  • Experience in/with OKC System Test group
  • Experience working with weapons and payload systems
  • Experience working with radar systems
  • Knowledge of governing standards to include MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760


Salary Range: $102,900 USD - $154,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
