Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join the System Support Team. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program.

What You Will Get To Do:

The selected candidate for this role will support electrical support equipment design using their electrical test engineering skills along with a multi-disciplined background, a hands-on work ethic, and a good understanding of engineering fundamentals. This opportunity involves a broad spectrum of tasking that will rely heavily on the candidate's existing skills and experience. Specific roles and responsibilities will include:

• Performing technical design trades studies, creating drawings, and developing test plans to meet the system requirements

• Participate in technical exchange meetings, interfacing with customers (internal/external) and contributing to a broad range of program deliverables

• Hands-on testing and troubleshooting 

• Lead a collaborative Agile Jira tracking environment project for use internally and Government colleagues.

• Maintaining engineering documents through Product Lifecycle Management (CPLM) for design reviews and other related events

• Work as a liaison between Integrated Product Team (IPT) stakeholders and external stakeholders

• Perform data analysis against requirements and interfaces for each software build or hardware component

• Interface with software developers and systems engineers in support of verification

• Support Product integration, regression, and verification testing including checkout in system test labs.

• Capture system requirements in DOORS requirements tracking tool

• Leading both internal teams and subcontractors

• Leading and/or participating in design reviews

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

•Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 5 years of experience; 3 years with Master’s Degree; 0 years with PhD

•Knowledge of MATLAB, LabVIEW or other software for data collection

•Experience with system design, engineering drawings and technical writing

•Experience with system or subsystem test and integration in engineering laboratory environment

•Experience using Common Product Lifecycle Management (CPLM)

•Experience with Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)

•Experience developing program procedures and processes

•Software and/or Hardware testing experience.

•Current DoD Secret clearance granted or reinvestigated within the last 6 years

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:

•Experience with power electronics and systems

•Experienced with Mentor tools (Capital, Xpedition)

•Experience as a Scrum Master

•Experience applying Agile Engineering principles and methodologies

•Proven success managing multiple projects simultaneously

•Capable of Taking initiative to reach out and collaborate across a large complex program

•Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Systems Engineering

•Experience using IBM Rationale Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)

Salary Range: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
