Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector in Azusa, CA seeks an Embedded Software Engineer (Level 2) or Principal Embedded Software Engineer (Level 3) to join our team. We are seeking someone who has the ability to report on-site daily. We can accommodate partial telework, but this is dependent upon business/program need. Due to this it will not always be a consistent hybrid schedule.

Basic Qualifications:

• For a Level 2 Embedded Software Engineer, a bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field with 2 years of related software engineering experience, OR a master’s degree in a STEM field.
• For a Level 3 Principal Embedded Software Engineer, a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 5 years of related software engineering experience, OR a master’s degree in a STEM field and 3 years of related experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing software in object-oriented programming languages such as C++ or ADA.
• Active and current DoD Secret clearance or higher.

Preferred Qualifications Either Level:

• Experience with developing software in Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) for embedded applications (VxWorks or similar)
• Knowledge of Agile development concepts, methodologies, and associated tools (Jira/Atlassian tools)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and analytic skills
• Thrive on colleague interactions and collaborations
• Some experience with unit testing (googletest or similar framework)
• Some experience with scripting languages such as Python or Ruby
• Some experience with configuration management and version control tools
• Some experience with software design using tools such as Cameo or Rhapsody
• Some experience with Static Code Analysis (SCA) tools (Fortify, Understand, SonarQube)
• Some experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
• Some experience with Linux operating system development and test experience

Salary Range: $82,400 USD - $123,600 USD

Salary Range 2: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
