Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has multiple openings for a Principal Network Engineer/Sr. Principal Network Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
**This position may be filled by either at the Principal Network Engineer level OR at the Sr. Principal Network Engineer level based on the qualifications listed.**
Essential Functions:
Participate in new installations, testing and special projects as needed.
Able to support multiple networks. Ensure necessary administration tasks are completed, working in a solo or team-based environment; as necessary
Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.
Plan, design, configure, and install network hardware in support of customer requirements
Maintain technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, switches, gateways, etc
Propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings..
Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems
Experience with DevOps environments, virtual cloud solutions/architectures
Strong Customer interaction Skills, problem solving and critical thinking at Customer facility
Ability to brief program leadership and resolve major IT roadblocks to facilitate Team success
Experience with Agile concepts and framework
Willing to travel up to 10% of time

Basic Qualifications for Principal Network Engineer (T03):
Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) related field with 5 years of experience, OR 3 year of experience with a Masters in STEM OR 9 years of related professional/military software and/or systems engineering experience in lieu of degree
Must have an Active in scope DoD Secret or higher security clearance
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain access to Special Programs (SAP)
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Network Engineer (T04):
Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) related field with 9 years of experience, OR 7 year of experience with a Masters in STEM OR 13 years of related professional/military software and/or systems engineering experience in lieu of degree
Must have an Active in scope DoD Secret or higher security clearance
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain access to Special Programs (SAP)
Must have demonstrated experience in Cloud based networking design, to include IP address planning, switching, and routing
Preferred Qualifications:
DOD Secret or Top Secret/SCI level Security Clearance, to include a Single Scope Background Investigation, a periodic reinvestigation, or an original adjudication date completed within the last 6 years
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree in Electronics, Computer or Electrical Engineering
Experience with working on a multidisciplinary team and writing technical proposals
Possess a DODD 8570 certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP ,Security +
Working knowledge of cyber security, STIGs and associated elements
Ground system setup, software development and/or systems administration
