Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is hiring an Engineer/Principal Engineer focusing on dynamics analysis to join our Vehicle Engineering team of qualified, diverse individuals in Melbourne, Florida.
The team member will be expected to perform aeroelastic analysis. In addition, the successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter and will be proactive, forward-thinking, able to work with a small team to rapid resolution of complex technical loads problems and can convey complex technical problems diplomatically and professionally to both other engineering disciplines and leadership. The candidate will be able to work well in a team environment and form connections across a myriad of disciplines: including, but not limited to, flight controls, mass properties, stress, and mechanism teams. The ideal candidate would have experience working in the advanced development world and would understand the depth of analysis this environment requires.
Basic Qualifications
Engineer: Bachelor of Science (BS) in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 2 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science (MS) and 0 years of experience.
Principal Engineer: BS in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 5 years of relevant experience; OR MS in a STEM discipline and 3 years of relevant experience
Experience with aeroelastic analysis
Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering with an emphasis on full aircraft dynamics (flutter and aeroservoelasticity)
Strong foundation in aeroelastic analysis with an emphasis in structural dynamics and aerodynamic modeling.
Experience in the use of industry standard loads and dynamics analysis software such as NASTRAN, PATRAN, FEMAP, ZONAIR, ZAERO
Experience with MATLAB and CAD Tools (NX)
