Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Instrumentation Network Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.
The selected candidate will maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. The selected candidate will interact with users, evaluate vendor products, and make recommendations to purchase hardware and software along with coordinating installation and providing backup recovery. This individual will also develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties for the selected candidate may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Maintaining availability of instrumentation data network and instrumentation data center.
Collecting and reporting system data metrics.
Ensuring systems adhere to program configuration and data management plans.
Providing software maintenance and installing software upgrades and patches.
Maintaining active licenses, maintenance contracts and warrantees.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with 5 years of experience in engineering; OR Master of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with 3 years of experience in engineering; OR PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university OR PhD in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university with 1 year of experience in engineering.
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Systems Administration experience, including Windows, Linux.
Experience setting up and maintaining networks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current DoD 8570 Level 2 Certification, such as Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, or CYSA+.
Experienced VMware virtual networking, VMware Horizon 8, VMware vSphere 8 and VMware Data Storage administration.
Previous cybersecurity, Information Assurance experience, and/or system administration experience.
Active Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification.
Active VMware Certified Professional Data Center Virtualization certification (VCP-DCV).
Understanding of enterprise-level computing platforms involving virtualization, distribution, and high availability.
Experience implementing storage allocation, reclamation, replication, and migration.
Knowledge of various storage systems VNX/Unity/XTREMIO.
