Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS), Beavercreek Ohio, is seeking a Cloud Engineer in support of programs at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Successful candidates should have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will be an active part of a Cloud Engineering team with expertise in AWS, GitLab, Kubernetes, Harbor, and related Cloud technologies. They will play a pivotal role in development and maintenance of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. This candidate will be planned to support a production environment on site at NASIC/WPAFB.
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications for a Cloud Engineer:
- Active Department of Defense Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.
- One of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline
- Minimum of 2 years experience implementing Cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, Etc.
- IAT Level II certification such as CASP+ or Security+
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Cloud Engineer:
- Active Department of Defense Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.
- One of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline with 3 years of experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience implementing Cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, Etc.
- IAT Level II certification such as CASP+ or Security+
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with DOD Cloud solutions such as DAF CLOUDworks, etc.
- VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG), Rancher, or similar DevOps architectures
- Experience with OCI-compliant container technology and tools (Docker, Podman, etc.)
- Cloud related certifications
- Experience developing automation techniques that improve deployment speed and service reliability in the containerized environment
- Knowledgeable in development of CI/CD Pipelines
- Experience working in an Agile environment/working knowledge of Agile principles and practices
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
