Northrop Grumman is hiring an Industrial Engineer to support our Tactical Space Systems Division located in Gilbert, AZ. The Principal Industrial Engineer analyzes and designs sequence of operations and workflow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Helps determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow and provides finite scheduling to manufacturing cost centers and IPTs
Maintains datasets and generates metrics that provide for the measurement of program & functional schedule & cost performance.
Develops and deploys plans that ensure the timely availability and effective utilization of labor, facilities, equipment, & tooling resources enabling the achievement of program delivery and cost milestones.
Develops and summarizes analyses for the acquisition, maintenance & enhancement of capital assets and miscellaneous equipment. Plans plant, office, and production facilities and equipment layouts
Provides capacity planning and rate tool analyses
Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction and inventory control
Establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.
May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.
Basic Qualifications:
Industiral Engineer 2: 2 Years with Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) OR related field; 0 Years with Masters; Additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be accepted
Industrial Engineer 3: 5 Years with Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) OR related field; 3 Years with Masters; Additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be accepted
2-5 years of experience in Industrial Engineering
2-5 years experience with process flows, manufacturing principles and production operations.
2-5 years experience with simulation programs, manpower modeling, and scheduling techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Aerospace or Defense
Documented experience working in a robust IPT environment
Strong expertise using the full suite of Microsoft Office Tools
Experience in computer systems such as MES, Deltek Costpoint, TipQA, PTC Windchill, Tableau, Minitab
