The role of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) is to launch innovative defense platforms from a manufacturing vantage point. The AME will use advanced knowledge of manufacturing engineering fundamentals to help Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. The AME shall influence the development of NGDS’s next generation of Defense products by supporting new products from concept development through the start of production.Job Description
  • Perform Supportability Readiness Assessments (SRA) of low to mid TRL systems/technology
  • Perform Manufacturability Level Assessments (MRL)
  • Oversee LO repair and maintenance techniques and operation, perform LO inspections, and verifications
  • Perform and lead LO materials and logistical support in the field.
  • Apply previous experiences in design, fabrication, indoor and outdoor test, and data post-processing to verify survivability designs for survivable edge systems and components
  • Lead a diverse group of junior Engineers with limited LO experience from a variety of backgrounds toward a single goal. Translate overall system or company goals into discrete tasks in support of that goal, often guiding or steering the team toward the completion of the tasks. Share your knowledge and expertise with junior engineers to help them grow in their career.
  • Communicate across the engineering disciplines and technology areas to integrate capabilities, and communicate technical capabilities and analyses with internal stakeholders and external customers (government customers and company leadership).
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree with 9 Years of relatable experience or Masters Degree with 7 years of relatable experience. Degree in any of the following: Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing
  • Creo, ProE, NX or similar CAD experience
  • Familiar with Six Sigma techniques
  • Tool/fixture design experience
  • Experience with assembly and process development
  • Costpoint or SAP experience
  • Experience with RCCA
  • Degree in any of the following: Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Experience leading projects to completion

Salary Range: $117,700 USD - $176,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
