An organization within Northrop Grumman’s Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) division, Spacecraft Components is a leading designer, producer, and supplier of spacecraft components that power and enable satellites of all classes. Products include spacecraft panels, bus structures, precision optical structures, deployable structural systems and mechanisms, solar arrays, and antenna reflectors. The team in Oxnard, CA is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to support new production lines. This is an Excellent opportunity to demonstrate or continue to build a portfolio of LEAN and/or Agile projects & initiatives focusing on scale up of high impact products that are changing the way the spacecraft industry operates.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Setup, scale up, & optimize production lines & spacecraft production areas.
  • Analyzes production data, VSMs, & manufacturing work flows to provide targeted & strategic approach to continuous improvement, production efficiency, & quality assurance.
  • Coordinate with leaders & stake holders through routine touchpoints to communicate & align strategy.  
  • Routine evaluation & implementation of training, tools, and/or plans related to maximizing production output, inventory control, quality assurance & cost reduction.

Basic Qualifications Level 3 (Principal):

  • 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 0 years of relevant experience with a PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Must have experience with VSMs (Value Stream Map) and production line analysis.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Basic Qualifications Level 4 (Sr. Principal):

  • 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 7 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Must have experience with VSMs (Value Stream Map) and production line analysis.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Position requires strong project management skills, excellent communication, & facilitation skills.
  • LSSBB (Lean Six Sigma Black Belt) or (LSSGB Lean Six Sigma Green Belt)
  • Kaizen facilitation

Salary Range: $95,000 USD - $142,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $117,700 USD - $176,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
