Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our Marine Systems team as an Industrial Engineering & Ops Systems Manager 2 based out of Sunnyvale, CA. Northrop Grumman Marine Systems specializes in the development, manufacture, assembly and testing of missile launching and handling systems, propulsion, and power generation systems for naval surface ships and submarines.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Responsible for the direct supervision/management of the Industrial Engineering & Ops Systems staff, providing objective-oriented direction to subordinates utilizing management guidelines & general policies
  • Analyze and design sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in production facilities and equipment layouts
  • Establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel
  • Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, cycle time reduction, capacity planning, throughput / output improvements, waste reduction, inventory control, and production record systems
  • Develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods
  • Interact with cross-functional leadership in shop floor management, manufacturing engineering, operations program management, and quality assurance

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 9+ years of related experience; Master's Degree with 7+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related area
  • Proven project and leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Proficient in SAP or ERP/MRP II, Microsoft Excel, and Data Analytics
  • Experience capacity planning in a bottleneck constrained environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Production planning experience in a heavy fabrication and machining environment
  • Experience in low-volume, high-mix manufacturing
  • Experience with DOD contracts, EVMS principles
  • Experience with Marine Systems
  • Knowledge of Northrop Grumman internal processes, procedures, and organization
  • An understanding of value stream mapping and lean principles
  • Experience with data mining, Oracle, and SharePoint
  • APICS Certification or APICS training
  • PMP or Project Management Certification training

Salary Range: $122,200 USD - $183,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
