Roles and Responsibilities:

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Researches, designs, develops, orders, tests, maintains, and identifies improvements / corrective actions for a variety of electronic equipment, electronic and optical systems, including lasers, infrared sensors, fiber optics, along with an assortment of production and test equipment and associated systems.

  • Support the build of Electro-Optical Distributed Aperture (EODAS) sensors.
  • Work with a team of 6 Process, Test and Software Engineers Supporting EODAS
  • Design and validate new processes and fixtures.
  • Create and update manufacturing engineering documentation (change notices, Routers, and electronic work instructions (eWI)).
  • Provide technical guidance and engineering evaluations to 30+ production process technicians pertaining to failure analysis, process methodology, corrective action, and continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot production hardware to determine root cause of failures and identify corrective actions.
  • Become the technology expert on EODAS’s laser welding system and advanced optical alignment system.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve technical hardware issues.
  • Create and analyze metrics to target cost and efficiency improvements.
  • Lead team to implement and maintain corrective actions.
  • Apply continuous improvement techniques to drive down costs and improve production efficiency.

This position will be filled at either a Principal Process Engineer or a Sr. Principal Process Engineer

Basic Qualifications Principal Process Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering discipline with 5+ years related work experience.
  • Experience in process development, fixture design, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in hardware design and manufacturing.
  • Strong communication skills, organization skills, and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US citizenship required.
  • Experience with reviewing engineering drawings
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Basic Qualifications Sr. Principal Process Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering discipline with 9+ years related work experience.
  • Experience in process development, fixture design, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in hardware design and manufacturing.
  • Strong communication skills, organization skills, and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US citizenship required.
  • Experience with reviewing engineering drawings
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified in Six Sigma
  • Knowledge of infrared camera systems and internal workings
  • Experience in laser welding
  • Experienced user of SAP
  • Knowledge of Electo-optical systems
  • Northrop Grumman work experience
  • Experience in test, & validation of Electronic or Circuit Card assemblies
  • Experience in CAD design
  • Active security clearance.

MANUMS


Salary Range: $90,600 USD - $136,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $112,300 USD - $168,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
