Northrop Grumman IT Solutions team is seeking a Systems Engineer (SE) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be local to the BWI MD factory but can be primarily performed remotely.  The position will be supporting our Manufacturing Equipment and Application Review process helping to evaluate equipment for fit with our digitally connected factory of the future and drive cultural change toward this new paradigm.   

As a Systems Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for evaluating systems to be connected to our manufacturing network, determining equipment interface capabilities, identifying and diagramming equipment communication requirements, communicating future connected factory vision from an ITOT interface perspective, and working with vendors as required to specify and verify access to data. 


The successful candidate will possess superior interpersonal, communications and leadership skills and must be able to clearly articulate and document analysis results to colleagues, management, and customers. This candidate must integrate easily into a close-knit agile team environment.
 

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ensure architecture and design alignment with standards & strategic direction
• Communicate future vision to stakeholders to help drive cultural change
• Document scope and technical requirements

• Create architecture and simple networking diagrams
• Provide input in providing solution alternatives for trade studies
• Review disaster recovery requirements and implementation

• Review security access controls for systems and data

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

• Requires 5 years with Bachelors in Science; 3 years with Masters

• Familiarity with Agile practices

• Familiar with software, especially software interfaces and APIs

• Broad knowledge of two or more of the following technical domains: system engineering, software engineering, IT infrastructure, network, security, manufacturing, industrial engineering
• Strong leadership and team building skills; excellent written and oral communications skills, drawing, modeling and communicating systems engineering
• Must be able to apply technical principles, theories, and concepts; expected to contribute to the development of new principles and concepts
• Candidates must have ability to provide total system perspective including a technical understanding of relationships, dependencies and requirements of hardware and software components for a project
• Qualified candidates must possess a demonstrated ability to independently prioritize, plan and execute work tasks in a rapidly changing environment

• Must have experience with technical drawings and requirements definition
• Ability for rare/occasional travel

•US Citizenship is required for this position

Preferred Qualifications:


Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

• Experience in Manufacturing industry

• Experience in IIOT (Industrial Internet of Things)
• Technical Experience with Northrop Grumman Manufacturing Execution Systems, Engineering Solutions, Product Line Engineering, TeamCenter Enterprise, Extranet Solutions, or Collaboration Solutions
• INCOSE or other System Engineering technical certifications


Salary Range: $99,800 USD - $149,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
