Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Engineer Software Quality (CMMI Process Analyst). This position will be located at our Defense Systems Sector in Walpole, MA.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s 2Is Solutions organization.

Northrop Grumman’s 2Is Solutions organization is seeking a detail-oriented Capability Maturity Model (CMMI) professional. The CMMI Process Analyst position will be primarily responsible for maintaining a CMMI Maturity Level 3 rating and evaluating and updating current CMMI documentation. This person will lead the effort to implement CMMI-related processes in the organization and organize and conduct trainings and audits. The ideal candidate for this position is an independent self-starter with the ability to communicate effectively with various individuals and teams. This position requires attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work closely with SMEs to extract information.

 Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate and update current plans and process documentation.
  • Work closely with SMEs to create standard documentation template.
  • Analyze, review, and write processes in writing and using workflow charts and diagrams.
  • Apply knowledge of Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), subject matter, and develop guidelines for process integration and product improvement.
  • Assist Data Mining and Analytics (Services) team and Applications (Software) teams to develop documentation that clearly explains methodology concepts, technical specifications, and complex asset content and related items.
  • Work with SMEs to identify process weaknesses, and development and implementation of process control improvements to processes, procedures, approaches, and/or techniques, incorporating best practices.
  • Aid in the selection of supporting Quality Assurance methodology, tools, processes, procedures, and techniques.
  • Work with external CMMI appraisers in collecting and analyzing project assets, preparing the organization for external assessments, and ensuring successful CMMI appraisals.
  • Understand projects and project requirements and can guide teams in process improvements.
  • Conduct audits and follow up audits.
  • Explore and implement further certification opportunities for the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

A candidate must meet ALL the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Bachelor’s and 5 years relevant experience, Master’s and 3 years relevant experience, or PhD) from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ years of process improvement with planning, project management, and business analysis, CMMI (or similar) ISO background, systems engineer.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of CMMI model within the culture of the company environment.
  • Experience in communicating effectively with other is both a written and oral manner. Detail-oriented, strong writing skills (grammar, rules of composition, and sentence structure.)
  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

  • Skills in process improvement, information analysis, written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and a proven ability to follow through on complex tasks.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in a way that is easy to understand; ability to read and understand information and ideas in existing documentation.
  • Ability to listen to others and convey complex concepts in simple text.
  • Confidence asking question and probing for information.
  • Previous DoD/ technology experience.

Salary Range: $95,000 USD - $142,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
