Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer (Level 1) / Manufacturing Engineer (Level 2).  This position will be located at our site in Iuka, Mississippi where technology and teamwork come together.  The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Engineering Team working in a collaborative environment while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment.

**Position is on-site in Iuka, MS and cannot be performed remotely. The selected candidate will work a Night/Weekend Shift**

Manufacturing Engineers for Aeronautics Systems are expected to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex and difficult problems.  They are problem solvers who have the ability to provide results that are innovative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives.  We seek Manufacturing Engineers that use a unique skill set that includes a hands-on approach and act as the technical representative voice for the Manufacturing organization.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will design and develop manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.  Other duties may include:

  • Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
  • Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigate and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Available Shifts:

NOTE: These shifts include a shift differential in addition to base pay.

  • B Shift Production: 7PM –530 AM, Monday - Thursday (4x10’s)
  • C Shift Production: 7AM - 730 PM, Friday - Sunday (3x12's)
  • D Shift Production: 7PM - 730 AM, Friday - Sunday (3x12's)

Basic Qualifications

This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Manufacturing Engineer level or a Manufacturing Engineer level based on the qualifications below.

Associate Manufacturing Engineer

  • Bachelor’s Degree of Science. Note: an additional 4 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication or production manufacturing operation experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Access Program within a reasonable period prior to starting. Clearance is not required to apply.
  • Ability to work any shift as needed by the business.

Manufacturing Engineer

  • Bachelor’s Degree of Science with 2 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication or production manufacturing operation; OR Master's Degree with 0 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication or production manufacturing operations. Note: An additional 4 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication or production manufacturing operation experience may be considered in lieu of a degree in science.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Access Program within a reasonable period prior to starting. Clearance is not required to apply.
  • Ability to work any shift as needed by the business.

Preferred Qualifications:             

  • STEM Degree (Science, Technical, Engineering or Mathematical)
  • Composites knowledge (i.e. hand layup, automated layup, cure experience, and/or machining experience)
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience with root cause & corrective action processes and techniques
  • Functional knowledge of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  • Experience authoring, modifying, and auditing work procedures
  • Able to utilize Catia V5 and/or NX
  • Experience providing innovative techniques focused on improving product designs and tooling assemblies or equipment 
  • Active Secret or Top-Secret clearance

Salary Range: $52,200 USD - $78,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $63,000 USD - $94,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
