Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager Material Process Engineering 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Clearfield, UT.

You will lead a Engineering Team supporting production and new design releases. Our team works with cutting edge exotic materials and novel products to innovate within our mission, working across the facility supporting large composite structures Are you interested in working on state-of-the-art composites? Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of approximately 6-10 engineers
  • Build and revise material specifications and product specifications
  • Advise customer on product innovations
  • Resolve material concerns for production operations including MRB evaluations
  • Develop ground-breaking solutions for design and manufacturing
  • Verify manufacturing limits and ensure specifications are maintained
  • Develop requirements for structural and chemical testing
  • Lead root cause and corrective action requirement analysis
  • Manage execution of the program requirements to technical, cost and schedule objectives
  • Provide challenging and stretching tasks and assignments to key talent in the organization

This role is day shift with minimal off hour support. Travel is estimated to be less than 10%. We work a 9/80 schedule, which gives you every other Friday off to pursue interests outside of work. Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) and 9 years of relevant experience
  • Prior leadership experience in a managerial, lead, or supervisory capacity
  • Material and process engineering experience in composite material systems
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance and special program access within a reasonable time as determined by the needs of the business

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials, Manufacturing, or Chemical Engineering
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience in composite materials testing methods, procedures, failure modes, environmental effects, and bonded composite joints
  • Composite fabrication experience and planning
  • Experience supporting composite primary and secondary structures, metallic, vendor supplied material certifications, approved materials list, and support forensic activities as required
  • Relevant aerospace analysis experience
  • Knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes
  • 2 years’ experience leading and developing technical/professional resources
  • Functional knowledge of production control systems

Salary Range: $116,200 USD - $174,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
