Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has two openings for Manager 2, IPT Integration, within the Tool Engineering organization.  Positions will be available in Clearfield, Utah and Iuka, Mississippi. 

Our Tooling Organization provides manufacturing Tooling for piece parts to large assemblies.   Responsible for the design, procurement, and integration for manufacturing, for defense and commercial Aerospace programs.  The manager will direct an integrated product team (IPT), similar to a program management function, responsible for the tooling project life-cycle metrics.

Tooling IPT Integration Manager Job Duties:

  • Manages tooling focal points, milestones, inputs, and outputs for successful execution
  • Identifies project resource needs and works with managers to capture resources
  • Maintains tooling schedule and milestones to meet program master schedule objectives
  • Approves tool design orders, statuses tools in IPT meetings, works budget reconciliation with internal customer and external suppliers.  Qualifies and down-selects tooling awards
  • Communicates and presents project information and solutions to Program management and leadership
  • Interface with internal and external customers; provide status and forecast of tooling cost and delivery.
  • Develop, maintain, and update departmental procedures relative to Tooling IPT Integration function
  • Perform Cost Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities to ensure compliance to EVMS for program direct budgets
  • Collaborate with other Aeronautics Systems Sector Tooling Organization Management to develop consistent process and procedures to help drive affordability and ensure the deployment of best practices across the sector

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM related discipline and a minimum of 8 years of experience in tooling, manufacturing, project management, and/or implementing technology into a production environment.; OR a Masters degree and a minimum of 6 years experience in tooling, manufacturing, project management, and/or implementing technology into a production environment.
  • Prior leadership experience or a knowledge of project management
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance as well as the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access within a reasonable timeframe as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Current Special Program Access
  • Previous Supervisory and Management experience in managing large projects, with an emphasis on tooling, manufacturing, assembly lines, and implementing technology into a production environment
  • Aerospace or Aviation Industry experience managing tool fabrication organizations & tool fabrication shops, & material procurement
  • Candidates should have solid project management, communication, and presentation skills

This position reports to Clearfield, UT, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Iuka, MS, MS, USA.


Salary Range: $110,100 USD - $174,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
