Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Circuit Design Engineer to join the Flight Systems Team. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. A competitive relocation package may be included with offer.

What You’ll Get To Do:

The selected candidate will fill the role of Guidance Computer Analog Board Design Engineer joining our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The individual in this role will develop Analog board designs utilized in the Guidance Computer (GC) flight Unit.  The GC is a high reliability, radiation hardened flight controller for the Sentinel Aerospace Vehicle (AVE).  The Sentinel Guidance Computer contains digital processing, digital I/O, and analog actuator/power I/O electronics functions. 

The scope of this role includes collaboration with systems engineers, mechanical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and other electrical engineers to perform design trades and requirements flow down, to create interconnection drawings, to perform electrical analysis, to develop test plans, and ultimately to deliver working hardware that meets program requirements. The qualified candidate will be an experienced analog design engineer who will work on the actuator drive board design and development with application in an embedded control processing function.  This position reports directly to the Guidance Computer Responsible Design Engineer (RDE).

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 14 years of experience; 12 years with Master’s Degree; 9 years with PhD

  • Experience with electrical circuit design, including detail circuit design, schematics development, and worst case analysis

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance, granted or re-investigated within last 6 years

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:  
  • Experience with planar magnetics, hi-density mechanical packaging, and thermal control techniques for aerospace environments

  • Experience developing Analog/Power/Drive Electronics for Radiation Hardened Missile or Space applications

  • Mixed signal unit, slice, board, and/or ASIC/FPGA design and development experience

  • Knowledge of control systems and feedback theory

  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) across all levels of the organization

Salary Range: $139,000 USD - $208,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
