Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Manager 2 – Physical Security Systems.  This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.  

  

What You’ll Get To Do:    

  • Leading the GBSD Physical Security element hardware development team, as well as coordinating efforts for subsystem integration and test. These subsystems include Facility Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and Assessment capabilities for the weapon system.
  • Lead CAM responsibilities for the hardware development function within the element. Responsible for coordinating schedules and cost visibility to the Program Office and maintaining quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Select candidate technologies, develop and implement maturation plans to ensure that system performance requirements are met.
    Coordinate integration and interface development efforts with the software development team.
  • Work with Systems Engineering and customer stakeholders to communicate system capabilities and support CONOPS development
  • Lead teams in a fluid environment that requires teamwork with other Command and Launch elements and our Customer.  
  • Responsible for a Design discipline Section within the SDS Design Engineering organization and will report directly to an SDS Design Engineering Department Manager.

As a Section Manager you will provide career mentorship and operational support to a Functional Home Room (FHR) team (Section) of between 8 and 12 Individual Contributors (ICs) based on Engineering goals, objectives, and company policy. Key FHR responsibilities will be personnel performance management, process familiarization and training for Section members, as well as staffing of roles on projects.

As a Section Manager you will be expected to spend roughly 20% of your effort on Functional Homeroom responsibilities with 80% of your efforts focused on the technical assignment as Physical Security Hardware Development lead.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.    

  

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of relevant product experience
  • 1+ years experience with ground-based sensor systems such as radar, lidar, video assessment or EOIR
  • Active or Current DoD Secret Clearance (awarded or reinvestigated within the past 5 years) and ability to obtain SAP program access (background investigation required)
  • 1+ years experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
  • 1+ years experience in all aspects of the hardware engineering development lifecycle and managing requirements on a schedule 

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:  

  • Design, Integration, Installation and/or fielding experience with Physical Security systems – such as biometric and access control systems; intrusion detection, video systems/management, etc
  • 5 years' experience with physical security design or deployment at Nuclear Weapons facilities
  • Experience with performance validation or System V&V
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Agile EVMS experience

Salary Range: $116,200 USD - $174,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
