The Vehicle Dynamics and Controls department is hiring 2 section managers: 1 for the Vehicle Controls group and 1 for the Vehicle Dynamics group.

The Section Managers will lead a group of approximately 10 engineers responsible for analysis within the Dynamics or Controls group located in Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach, CA sites.

The Vehicle Controls and Dynamics Section Managers will be responsible for the oversight, development, assessment and staffing of their assigned Attitude Control Systems or Vehicle Dynamics section under the Vehicle Dynamics and Controls Department.  These positions are an 80% / 20% split in work effort between functional homeroom responsibilities and a role (or roles) supporting programs.  The selected candidates will learn and development skills necessary to support overseeing technical developments within their specific discipline, working with functional homeroom peers in making sound hiring and staffing decisions, and assisting with tools and processes in their particular field of engineering.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in relevant Engineering or Science/Technology discipline from an accredited university with 5 years of experience including analysis Dynamics or Controls field; OR Master of Science degree in relevant Engineering or Science/Technology discipline from an accredited university with 3 years of experience including analysis in Dynamics or Controls field

  • Experience with industry standard analysis software for Dynamics or Controls (NASTRAN, FEMAP, MatLab, Simulink, etc)

  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment

  • Ability to obtain / maintain a US DoD Security Clearance

This position reports to Redondo Beach, CA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Manhattan Beach, CA, CA, USA.

Salary Range: $147,800 USD - $221,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
